Egyptian public university in Abbasiya in Cairo, founded in 1950 as Ibrahim Pasha University and renamed Ain Shams, one of the country's largest universities. Teaches through faculties of pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, nursing, science with chemistry and biology, engineering, agriculture, education and the humanities, runs the Ain Shams University Hospitals including the specialised hospital as its teaching hospitals, and carries out research in pharmaceutical sciences, drug analysis and biotechnology with its own laboratories.
