German public university at Freiburg im Breisgau in Baden-Württemberg, founded in 1457. Teaches pharmacy through its institute of pharmaceutical sciences, together with medicine, dentistry, chemistry, biology and engineering, runs the Freiburg university medical centre for clinical teaching and trials, and carries out research on pharmaceutical biology and biotechnology, medicinal chemistry and drug delivery.
