American pharmaceutical and medical aesthetics company founded in 1948 in Los Angeles as an eye care business and later headquartered in Irvine, California with a corporate domicile in Dublin. Known for the botulinum toxin Botox, ophthalmic medicines including dry eye and glaucoma treatments, dermal fillers and body contouring products, breast implants and central nervous system and gastroenterology medicines. Acquired by AbbVie in May 2020 and now operated within that group as Allergan Aesthetics and Allergan Eye Care.
