Asahi Glassplant Inc., founded in 1950 in Omuta, Japan as Asahi Seisakusho Inc., is Japan's top exporter of glass reaction units, with glass processing technology used in 102 countries and adopted by all of Japan's top ten chemical and pharmaceutical companies and roughly 95% of the world's top twenty pharmaceutical companies. As the only manufacturer capable of producing both borosilicate and quartz glass at the same site, the company has grown through decades of expansion — including joint ventures in India (2008) and Shanghai (2010), a US subsidiary (2014), and acquisitions such as GlasKeller Basel, H.S. Martin, Cambridge Glassblowing, Syrris and Glass Solutions, Hakko Sangyo, Soffieria Sestese, and Premex Solutions/Premex Reactor — establishing operations across Japan, India, China, the US and the UK. Selling worldwide across North and South America, Western and Eastern Europe, Australasia, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, the company maintains its own brand, a large product line, and accommodates small orders as part of its quality-focused service.
