British National Health Service trust in east London, formed in 2012 from the merger of three trusts and one of the largest in England. Runs St Bartholomew's Hospital, the Royal London Hospital, Whipps Cross, Newham and Mile End hospitals, providing acute, emergency, cardiac, cancer and trauma services to a population of over two million, with hospital pharmacy and clinical trial services and close links to Queen Mary University of London for teaching and research.
