French and British metal packaging group formed in 1989 from the merger of Carnaud of France with Metal Box of Britain, with steel and aluminium can and closure plants across Europe. Made food and drink cans, aerosol cans, closures and metal packaging for pharmaceutical and consumer goods makers, and was bought by Crown Holdings of the United States in 1996.
