British fine chemicals company founded in 1988 with its research laboratories on the Whiteknights campus of the University of Reading and a small manufacturing plant at Cork in Ireland, employing some thirty people, mostly chemists. Made active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates by chemical and biocatalytic routes, held approval from the American regulator for its Cork plant from 2001, and was bought by Johnson Matthey in 2002.
