American acute care hospital at Winfield in DuPage County, Illinois, opened in 1964 and part of Northwestern Medicine since 2014, affiliated with the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Has about three hundred and ninety beds with more than a thousand physicians in some ninety specialties, and is a regional centre for oncology, neurosciences, cardiovascular care, paediatrics and orthopaedics, running its own laboratories, imaging services and pharmacy together with clinical trials.
