Regional office of the French national centre for scientific research covering Alsace, based in Strasbourg. Administers the CNRS laboratories of the region, among them joint units with the University of Strasbourg in chemistry, biology and physics including the institute of chemistry, the institute of molecular and cellular biology and the pluridisciplinary Hubert Curien institute, manages their staff, budgets and buildings, and supports partnerships and technology transfer with the pharmaceutical and chemical companies of the region.
