Science and technology faculty of the NOVA University of Lisbon at Caparica across the Tagus from the capital, founded in 1977. Teaches chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, chemical and biological engineering, materials and environmental sciences, hosts the UCIBIO applied molecular biosciences unit and the LAQV chemistry laboratory of the REQUIMTE network, and carries out research on medicinal chemistry, biomolecules and analytical methods.
