Colombian government body within the Ministry of Health and Social Protection which controls medicines and substances under special control. Supervises the import, export, manufacture, distribution, sale and use of narcotic and psychotropic drugs and their precursors for medical and scientific purposes under Law 30 of 1986, keeps the lists of controlled substances and the registers of stocks held by pharmacies and hospitals, imports, manufactures and distributes the medicines that are a state monopoly such as opioid analgesics, and supports national programmes on drug dependence.
