Japanese public university in Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture, established in 1932 as a pharmaceutical college and municipally operated by the city of Gifu, specialising entirely in pharmaceutical sciences. Runs a six year pharmacy programme and a four year pharmaceutical sciences programme together with graduate schools, teaching and researching medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacology, clinical pharmacy, analytical chemistry and environmental and hygienic sciences under a green pharmacy theme, and collaborating with hospitals and the pharmaceutical industry.
