Chinese public medical university at Guilin in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, founded in 1935 as a medical training school and raised to university standing in recent years. Teaches clinical medicine, pharmacy, nursing, medical laboratory science and public health, runs its own affiliated hospitals in the city for clinical teaching and trials, and carries out research in pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry and the medicinal plants of Guangxi with its own laboratories.
