American academic health system of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, named Michigan Medicine since 2017 and comprising the University of Michigan Medical School, founded in 1850, the University Hospital, the C.S. Mott Children's and Von Voigtlander Women's hospitals, the Rogel Cancer Center, the Frankel Cardiovascular Center and a network of health centres. Provides tertiary and quaternary care including transplantation, cardiovascular surgery, cancer and children's services, runs inpatient, ambulatory, home infusion and specialty pharmacy services and an investigational drug service, and hosts a large clinical trials and translational research programme.
