American public land grant research university in East Lansing, Michigan, founded in 1855 as the Agricultural College of the State of Michigan and the pioneer land grant institution. Runs the College of Human Medicine, the College of Osteopathic Medicine and the College of Veterinary Medicine with departments of pharmacology and toxicology, the Institute for Integrative Toxicology and the Center for Research on Ingredient Safety, together with colleges of natural science and agriculture, conducting research in toxicology, veterinary pharmacology, food safety and clinical trials.
