Pharmaceutical business founded in 1961 in West Virginia in the United States and grown into a global generics and specialty medicines company, which combined with Upjohn in November 2020 to form Viatris. Develops, manufactures and markets generic, branded generic and specialty medicines across a wide range of therapy areas, and its Indian arm Mylan Laboratories, built largely on the former Matrix Laboratories in Hyderabad, is a major producer of active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage forms including antiretroviral medicines for global health programmes.
