Indian research institute at Bhosari in Pune, founded in 1992 as the National AIDS Research Institute under the Indian Council of Medical Research and renamed the National Institute of Translational Virology and AIDS Research. Carries out research on HIV and other viral infections, epidemiology and prevention, runs clinical trial and vaccine study units, maintains national reference laboratories for HIV testing and trains scientists and clinicians.
