Nigerian federal research institute at Idu Industrial Area in Abuja, established in 1987 under the Federal Ministry of Health as a centre of excellence for research and development of phytomedicines, pharmaceutical and biological products, drugs and diagnostics. Works on standardisation and development of medicinal plants and traditional medicines, drug formulation and quality control, pharmacology and toxicology testing, and provides analytical and product development services to the Nigerian pharmaceutical industry.
