Searle in 2000 as Pharmacia Corporation and was bought by Pfizer in 2003. Made and sold prescription medicines including growth hormone, ophthalmic and oncology products, the arthritis medicine celecoxib and nicotine replacement products, and ran research sites in Sweden, Italy and the United States.
