Finnish wellbeing services county for North Ostrobothnia, based in Oulu and one of the counties created in 2023 when responsibility for health and social care and rescue services passed from municipalities. Runs Oulu University Hospital as its central hospital together with regional hospitals, health stations and social services across the region, provides emergency care, specialist medicine, laboratory and imaging services, pharmacy and poisoning treatment, and works with the University of Oulu on teaching and clinical research.
