Pakistani public research university in Islamabad at the foot of the Margalla hills, founded in 1967 as the University of Islamabad and renamed after the country's founder in 1976. Teaches through faculties of biological sciences with departments of pharmacy, biochemistry, microbiology, biotechnology and plant sciences, natural sciences with chemistry and physics, medicine, and social sciences, and runs its own research laboratories with work in drug formulation and analysis, natural products, molecular biology and nanotechnology.
