Brazilian state university with campuses in more than twenty cities across São Paulo state, created in 1976 by bringing together institutes and faculties founded from the nineteen twenties onwards, and one of the country's three state universities. Teaches pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, biological sciences, chemistry, agricultural sciences and engineering, runs teaching hospitals, veterinary hospitals and its own analytical and research laboratories, and carries out research in pharmacology and toxicology, natural products, food science and animal health.
