Russian public medical university in Moscow, tracing its origins to the medical faculty of Moscow University founded in 1758 and named after the physiologist Ivan Sechenov, the oldest and largest medical university in the country. Its Institute of Pharmacy teaches pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy, drug technology and pharmacology and runs drug development and pharmaceutical research alongside the university clinics.
