American public research university in the La Jolla neighbourhood of San Diego, California, founded in 1960 as part of the University of California system. Teaches and researches across medicine, pharmacy, biological sciences, engineering, physical sciences, oceanography and the humanities, and its Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences awards the Doctor of Pharmacy and graduate degrees with research in drug discovery, pharmacogenomics, drug delivery and clinical pharmacy alongside UC San Diego Health.
