Umm al-Qura University

Saudi public university in Mecca, whose teaching goes back to the College of Sharia founded in 1949 and which became a university under its present name in 1981, the oldest university in the kingdom. Teaches through colleges of pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, applied medical sciences, nursing, public health, science with chemistry and biology, engineering and the Islamic and social sciences, and carries out research in pharmaceutical sciences, medicinal plants and public health with its own laboratories and an institute for hajj research.
