Spanish public university at Alcalá de Henares in the Madrid region, founded in 1499 and refounded in 1977, whose historic centre is on the UNESCO world heritage list. Teaches through its faculties of pharmacy, medicine and health sciences, biology and environmental sciences and chemistry, trains pharmacists, doctors, nurses and chemists to degree, master's and doctoral level, and carries out research in pharmaceutical technology, pharmacology, analytical chemistry, biotechnology and clinical research with the university hospitals of the region.
