Chilean public university in Santiago, founded in 1842 and the oldest and most prominent university in the country. Runs the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences teaching pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry and food chemistry, together with faculties of medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, physical and mathematical sciences and the humanities, with the Hospital Clinico de la Universidad de Chile and research in medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology and natural products.
