Ecuadorian public university in Portoviejo in Manabí province, founded in 1952 and the largest university in the province. Teaches through its faculties of health sciences with medicine, nursing, laboratory sciences and nutrition, its faculty of chemical and health sciences and its faculties of agricultural, engineering and administrative sciences, runs postgraduate programmes, and carries out research in food science, chemistry, agriculture and public health with its own laboratories and teaching clinics.
