Brazilian private university with its main campus at Duque de Caxias in the greater Rio de Janeiro area, founded in 1972 and raised to university status in 1994, now part of the Afya group. Teaches medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, nursing, biomedicine, nutrition and physiotherapy alongside law, engineering and business, runs postgraduate and doctoral programmes in dentistry and health sciences, and operates its own teaching clinics and laboratories.
