Italian public university in Pisa, Tuscany, founded in 1343 and one of the oldest in Europe. Its Department of Pharmacy teaches the pharmacy and pharmaceutical chemistry and technology degrees with research groups in medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical technology and drug delivery, pharmacology and toxicology, pharmacognosy and analytical chemistry, and the university also runs departments of medicine, biology, chemistry and veterinary sciences with the Pisa university hospital and its own veterinary teaching hospital.
