Swiss public university in Zurich, founded in 1833 and the largest university in the country. Teaches through its faculty of medicine, its faculty of science with chemistry, biochemistry and biology, and its vetsuisse faculty of veterinary medicine, works with the Zurich university hospital and the children's and other clinics for clinical teaching and trials, and carries out research in pharmacology and toxicology, molecular medicine, immunology and neuroscience with its own institutes, including a well known institute of pharmacology and toxicology.
