Faculty of medicine of the University of Montpellier in Hérault, France, founded in 1220 and the oldest medical school in the western world still in operation. Teaches medicine and maieutics with campuses at Montpellier and Nîmes, and its research units work on cancer, neuroscience, cardiovascular and metabolic disease and infectious disease with the Montpellier and Nîmes university hospitals, running clinical pharmacology, pharmacovigilance and clinical trials alongside the university's separate faculty of pharmacy.
