Malaysian public research university with its main campus at Minden in Penang, founded in 1969 as the country's second university and designated an APEX university. Its School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, established in 1972 and the oldest in Malaysia, teaches the Bachelor of Pharmacy and postgraduate degrees with disciplines of pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical chemistry, physiology and pharmacology, and clinical pharmacy, and the university also runs a health campus at Kubang Kerian in Kelantan with medical, dental and health sciences schools and its own teaching hospital, alongside research in drug delivery, natural products and clinical trials.
