Irish university at Belfield in Dublin, founded in 1854 as the Catholic University of Ireland and the largest university in the country. Teaches medicine, pharmacology, chemistry, biotechnology, food science and veterinary medicine through its colleges of health and agricultural sciences and of science, works with Dublin teaching hospitals for clinical teaching and trials, and carries out research in medicinal chemistry, drug delivery, food science and biomolecular science.
