Syrian public university in Aleppo, founded in 1958 out of the faculty of engineering established there in 1946 and long the second largest university in the country. Runs faculties of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, science, engineering, agriculture, veterinary medicine and the humanities, with its Faculty of Pharmacy teaching pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy, pharmacology and quality control and awarding pharmacy degrees.
