Malaysian public university with its main campus at Minden in Penang and further campuses at Kubang Kerian in Kelantan and Nibong Tebal, founded in 1969 as the second university in the country. Teaches pharmacy through its school of pharmaceutical sciences, together with medicine, dentistry, health sciences, chemistry and biology, runs the Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia for clinical teaching and trials, and carries out research in drug formulation, natural products and clinical pharmacy.
