French public higher school formed in 2010 from the merger of the Lyon veterinary school, whose teaching goes back to 1761, and the agricultural engineering school of Clermont-Ferrand. Trains veterinary surgeons and agricultural engineers on its campuses at Marcy-l'Étoile near Lyon and at Lempdes, runs veterinary teaching hospitals and diagnostic laboratories and carries out research on animal health, food safety, epidemiology and antimicrobial use.
