American contract research laboratory group founded in 1975 at Ashland in Ohio as WIL Research, with further sites in Michigan, Massachusetts and the Netherlands, bought by Charles River Laboratories in 2016 and folded into its safety assessment business. Runs preclinical safety studies for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agrochemical and industrial clients including general toxicology, developmental and reproductive toxicology, inhalation and juvenile studies, safety pharmacology, bioanalysis and pathology to good laboratory practice.
