Chinese public university in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, tracing its origins to a technical school of 1953 and given its present name in 1991, with campuses at Pingfeng, Zhaohui and Moganshan. Strong in chemical engineering, pharmaceutical engineering and biotechnology, its College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Institute of Pharmaceutical Engineering work on green synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients, biocatalysis, drug discovery and pharmaceutical process technology in close cooperation with the Zhejiang pharmaceutical industry.
