Portuguese research institute of the University of Minho at the AvePark science park in Barco, Guimarães, working on biomaterials, biodegradable materials and biomimetic approaches to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Develops natural origin polymers from marine and plant sources, scaffolds and hydrogels, stem cell based therapies, drug and cell delivery systems and biomimetic surfaces, with laboratories, a tissue engineering and regenerative medicine associate laboratory and links to clinical partners and companies.
