German training academy for health professions in Heidelberg, run as a non-profit company by the Heidelberg university hospital together with the Protestant church. Trains about a dozen health professions including nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, medical technical assistants in laboratory and radiology and pharmaceutical technical assistants, runs state recognised advanced training courses for nursing specialties, and provides continuing education for staff of the university hospital and other health employers.
