A drug delivery business focused on developing and commercially manufacturing effervescent and proprietary fast-melt pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products, primarily solid dosage forms delivered directly into the oral cavity to improve bioavailability, patient compliance and convenience. With 28 years of cGMP manufacturing and formulation development experience, Alpex Pharma was established in 1985 as Aesculapius Pharma SA and later managed for 12 years by Elan Corporation as Elan Pharma SA. The company now employs around 100 people at its site in Mezzovico, Switzerland, near Lugano.
