Indian pharmaceutical and biologics company founded in 1953 and headquartered at Azamabad in Hyderabad, Telangana, set up as a joint venture with Evans Medical Supplies of the United Kingdom and the first private sector biological products company in India. Develops and manufactures vaccines including tetanus toxoid, diphtheria tetanus and pertussis, pentavalent and typhoid conjugate vaccines supplied to United Nations agencies and national immunisation programmes, along with the Corbevax COVID-19 vaccine, and also makes heparin and other injectable and oral formulations and, since the 1980s, veterinary medicines.
