Cancer Research UK

British cancer research charity headquartered in London, formed in 2002 by the merger of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund with the Cancer Research Campaign and the largest independent funder of cancer research in the world. Funds research institutes and university groups across the United Kingdom, runs its own Cancer Research Horizons drug discovery and commercialisation arm with laboratories in Cambridge, Manchester and Newcastle, sponsors early phase and late phase clinical trials through its Centre for Drug Development and the CRUK clinical trials units, and publishes cancer statistics and patient information.
