Assesses and approves hazardous substances and new organisms, keeps the register of approved hazardous substances and their controls and classifications, regulates agricultural compounds and industrial chemicals alongside the other agencies, decides applications of national significance and activities in the exclusive economic zone, and runs compliance and enforcement and the emissions trading register.
