Federal Medical Centre Makurdi

Nigerian federal hospital in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, established in 1967 as the General Hospital and taken over as a federal medical centre. Provides emergency care, internal medicine and surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, ophthalmology, dentistry and psychiatry as the main referral hospital of the state, trains resident doctors and other health workers, and runs its own hospital pharmacy, clinical laboratories and imaging services.
