French chemistry institute of the CNRS at Gif-sur-Yvette south of Paris, founded in 1959 and part of Université Paris-Saclay. Studies natural products from plants, micro-organisms and marine sources, their isolation, structure and synthesis, works on medicinal chemistry and chemical biology for cancer and infectious disease, keeps a chemical library and analytical platforms and trains doctoral students.
