American public research university at Bloomington in Indiana, founded in 1820 and the flagship campus of the Indiana University system, which also runs the School of Medicine at Indianapolis. Teaches through the College of Arts and Sciences with chemistry and biology, the School of Public Health, the Luddy School of Informatics and the Kelley School of Business, and carries out research in chemistry and biochemistry, environmental science, drug discovery and public health with its own laboratories and mass spectrometry and imaging facilities.
