Taiwanese national university in Da'an, Taipei, founded in 1928 as Taihoku Imperial University and the island's leading research university. Teaches through colleges of medicine with the school of pharmacy and the National Taiwan University Hospital, life science, science with chemistry, engineering with chemical and biomedical engineering and bioresources and agriculture with food science, and carries out research in drug discovery and pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical engineering and imaging, genomics and clinical trials with its own research centres.
