Italian technical university in Turin, founded in 1859 as the Scuola di Applicazione per gli Ingegneri and constituted as a polytechnic in 1906, one of the oldest engineering schools in Europe. Teaches and researches through departments of applied science and technology, electronics and telecommunications, mechanical and aerospace engineering and environment, land and infrastructure engineering, with degree programmes in biomedical engineering and work on medical devices and instrumentation, biomaterials and tissue engineering, biosignal and image processing, microfluidics and process and materials chemistry, in its own laboratories and with hospital and industry partners.
